Besides being in private practice in Encino California, I also work full time at the Sherman Oaks Hospital Outpatient Psychiatric Unit as therapist and Clinical Coordinator. There I facilitate daily psychotherapy groups with adults and seniors with a wide range of diagnoses. I use a combination of treatment modalities including Attachment based Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Clinical Art Therapy, EMDR and Integrative Somatic Therapy. I also facilitate healing drum circles and Mindfulness meditation groups. I work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, which includes psychiatrists, nurses and social workers.
I have been an adjunct professor and a member of the supervisory staff in the Department of Marital and Family Therapy at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. I also worked for a number of years as a school therapist in a non-public school setting with severely emotionally disturbed children and their families.
For my graduate education I attended the Masters Degree Program in Art Therapy at California State University Los Angeles, as well as Antioch University, where I received a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology. My bachelors Degree was received from the San Francisco Art Institute, where I majored in Painting.
I am a licensed Marriage and family Therapist, a Board Certified Art Therapist and certified EMDR therapist. I am also a training facilitator with The Trauma Resource Institute.
I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), the American Art Therapy Association (AATA), and the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).
